Social Emotional Learning

Social Emotional Learning is an important is how students acquire social and emotional skills. Many staff at Dowling have been trained in the Responsive Classroom model. Responsive Classroom is a student-centered, social and emotional learning approach to teaching and discipline. It is comprised of a set of research, and evidence-based practices designed to create safe, joyful, and engaging classrooms and school communities for both students and teachers. Staff also use the curriculums of Second Step and Amazeworks to teach students important skills in Social Emotional Learning.
