My name is Sarah Cherveny and I am so happy to be your child's kindergarten teacher this year in Room 107! I am looking forward to getting to know your child as we learn something new each and every day. I love teaching kindergarten and I know that this will be a fantastic school year!
A little about me... I live in Southwest Minneapolis with my husband, Aaron, and my two boys Finn and Will. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors and snuggling my dog, Auggie. I especially love traveling with my family. This year took us on a road trip through Ireland and London!
I earned both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I began my career student teaching here at Dowling in 2000. Since that time, I taught grades 2 and 5 before finding my way back to Dowling as a Kindergarten teacher in 2015. I have fallen in love with kindergarteners and enjoy the enthusiasm they bring each and every day.
The best way to get in touch with me is through email. If you have any questions, my email address is sarah.cherveny@mpls.k12.mn.us.
I am looking forward to a great year!

Hello! My name is Jennie Song (she/her) and I am excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher this year! Dowling is such a special place to learn and grow; it is a community I am proud to be a part of and I hope for your family to feel the same. We have a fun year planned and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child!
A little background: I moved to Minneapolis from New York City in 2016. I graduated from Augsburg University with my BS in Elementary Education in 2020 and completed my student teaching here at Dowling. This will be my fourth year teaching kindergarten.
I enjoy spending my free time with my fiancé, Alex, either biking or walking around our neighborhood in Near North, taking mini-road trips to explore mountain biking trails in Minnesota, or visiting family in Illinois, Wisconsin and Georgia. Although we don’t have any children of our own, we have four amazing nieces and nephews. This summer, we welcomed a new addition to our pack, a mini bernedoodle named Toad.
After a relaxing summer, I am eager to start a new school year with Dowling's youngest scholars and hope you are, too! I look forward to working together with you to make this a successful and fun year for our kindergarteners!
I am Clara Waibel and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. We will be learning and lot and having fun this school year! This will be my second year at Dowling.
A bit of background about me... I am a born and raised Minnesotan growing up in the Twin Cities. I studied at the University of Minnesota for my undergraduate and master's degree in education. When I'm not at school, you can find me outdoors doing all sorts of activities. I love to be on the water during the summer! I also love getting students outside to learn. I also love to read and cook in my free time!
