Third Grade

This is my sixth year teaching in Minneapolis. I was born in Busan, South Korea and adopted to a wonderful family in Wisconsin. Prior to teaching in Minneapolis, I taught in South Korea and Milwaukee Public Schools. I have 20 years of experience teaching children ranging from 1st grade all the way up to 7th. I received my undergraduate degree in Economics from Seattle University and a teaching degree from Cardinal Stritch University. I feel extremely grateful to be teaching 3rd grade in such a wonderful school this year. When not at school, you'll find me golfing, pickleballing, and enjoying life with my girlfriend and two dogs.

Welcome to 3rd Grade at Dowling Urban Environmental School, my name is Carol Moosbrugger. I began teaching for Minneapolis Public Schools in 1991 and came to Dowling in 2004. During my first 11 years here, I taught first grade. In 2015, I decided to make a change and moved to 3rd Grade. I am fortunate to work with a fabulous team, and we collaborate to provide the best learning experience for all of our third graders.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Madison, Wisconsin with a double major in journalism and history. I received my teaching degree from Augsburg College and my Master's Degree in Education from St. Mary's University.

Welcome to 3^rd Grade. We are excited you are here! 

I have been teaching for over 15 years and loving every moment of it. I have a Liberal Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, my teaching degree from Rutger's University,  and a Master of Science in Global, International & Comparative Education from Drexel University. As a lifelong learner, I enjoy reading, questioning, and pondering. My favorite part of teaching is that our classroom community is a space for children and adults to envision and reimagine beautiful possibilities for the common good. 

When I am not teaching and learning at Dowling, I enjoy exploring with my family. We love exploring our South Minneapolis neighborhood on foot or bike. In the summer, we love reading at Roosevelt Library, playing pickleball at Lake Nokomis, or walking around Hiawatha Park. When snow falls, you can find us ice skating at Sibley or cross-country skiing at Fort Snelling.
